Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

Aer ("the app") is an air-quality information app for North Macedonia. This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle. In short: Aer has no user accounts, shows no ads, and does not track you.

Data we do not collect

Aer does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or any analytics about how you use the app. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising SDKs.

Location

If you grant location permission, Aer uses your device location only on your device, and only to select the nearest city in its catalogue so it can show you that city's air quality first. Your precise location is never stored and is never transmitted to our servers or to any third party. Granting location is optional — you can use the app fully by choosing a city manually.

Air-quality data requests

To display air quality and forecasts, the app requests data from our backend service by city name (for example, "Skopje"). These requests contain no personal identifiers. As with any internet service, our hosting provider may process your device's IP address to route the request; it is not used to identify you and is not combined with any other data.

Data sources

Air-quality and weather data originate from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) via the Open-Meteo API. These are modelled estimates and forecasts, not measurements from a physical sensor at your location.

Children

Aer is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
